Robert Forest Joins Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture as Management Partner

Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture announce that Robert Forest, AIA, RIBA, OAA, LEED AP, has joined the firm as a Management Partner.

Mr. Forest, a former Associate Partner at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP, has extensive experience with the execution of projects on an international scale. As a project manager at SOM, he successfully oversaw a range of projects including the Pearl River Tower, the zero energy skyscraper in Guangzhou, China, which was designed by Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill while at SOM. Additional projects managed by Mr. Forest at SOM included Nanging Greenland Tower in Nanjing, China; Suzhou International Expo Center in Suzhou, China; and Shanghai Grand Office Tower in Shanghai, China. Mr. Forest also contributed to the Burj Dubai in Dubai, UAE, Trump Tower Chicago in Chicago, Illinois and the Canary Wharf project in London, England, all designed by Adrian Smith while at SOM.

Mr. Forest has long been a proponent of environmentally friendly design. In 2002, he assisted in founding a sustainable design committee in SOM's Chicago office. He is a LEED accredited professional and involved with the United States Green Building Council.

"Bob is truly an expert on the economic advantages of sustainable design," said Gordon Gill. "He understands everything from the policies regarding green development, to tax incentives that can help fund these buildings and the cost savings over the life-cycle of these projects."

In addition to his experience at SOM, Mr. Forest previously worked for design firms in Toronto, Hong Kong and Osaka, Japan. Prior to receiving his degree in Architecture from Carleton University in 1994, he played professional football for Canadian teams the Ottawa Rough Riders and Montreal Machine.
