AS+GG Architecture is pleased to announce the promotion of Juan Betancur to Partner
February 4, 2026 -- Juan Betancur, AIA, LEED AP, whose tenure at AS+GG spans 18 years, has been promoted to a new role as Partner, joining co-founders Robert Forest, FAIA and Gordon Gill, FAIA.
Pushing the boundaries of architecture through advanced modeling, sustainability strategies, and responsive design solutions, Juan’s new role began last month. “We’re excited to have Juan as our new Partner as we continue to advance the firm toward a more sustainable future,” said Gordon Gill.
Juan brings extensive global expertise in supertall, commercial, and cultural buildings at all scales — from some of the world’s tallest and most technically advanced skyscrapers such as Wuhan Greenland Center, Uptown Dubai, and the Federation of Korean Industries Tower in Seoul. His design approach has been responsible for some of the world’s most significant supertalls and city planning projects and is rooted in geographic, environmental, and cultural context, optimizing energy efficiency, structural performance, and user experience.
AS+GG Founding Partner Bob Forest adds, “We’re so pleased to have Juan as a Partner and the opportunity to continue our 20+ years of collaboration. I look forward to advancing AS+GG’s design excellence and broadening the firm’s horizons together.”
In his role as Partner, Juan will build on his extensive experience, guiding complex projects and teams, and integrating performance-based design with architectural excellence across a diverse portfolio of work.
“I am honored to join the AS+GG partnership and deeply grateful to Gordon, Bob and my colleagues for their trust. For nearly two decades, the firm’s commitment to performance driven and environmentally responsive design has shaped my work, and I look forward to continuing to advance that mission together.”
