Sae Hwang Oh on

I'm drawn to design because of my enthusiasm for the value of architecture.

where he finds inspiration
From the surroundings and thoughts.

his favorite "moment" in architecture
The constant progress in technical achievements without deviating from the original design intention.

his favorite city architecturally
Chicago. As Mies van der Rohe said, "The most important idea in Modern architecture is the idea of the skeleton building developed in Chicago."

his favorite thing about a collaborative design process
You can always find solutions from collaboration when there is a challenge.

the accomplishment he's most proud of contributing at AS+GG
I think I bring a wealth of experience, knowledge and resources to what is perhaps the most demanding job at the firm. I also enjoy mentoring and advising junior architects and interns.

what he'd be if he weren't an architect
An urban planner.

what he does when he's not designing
Listening to Brahms.
