James Deane

Director of Sustainability James Deane approaches each project with the mindset that success depends on clearly defined goals, objectives, technical requirements, management procedures, procurement methodologies, and a robust design, resilience, and sustainability vision.

With 35+ years of experience as a Registered Architect in enterprise, program, and project management, he has successfully led teams in the definition, design, documentation, and delivery of his client’s vision across an expansive range of planning, infrastructure, and facility types.

As the Director of Sustainability at AS+GG, he is responsible for the leadership of CarbonLab, business development, scoping, management, and assurance for the team’s work as well as the integration of that work into each project.

He led the delivery of a confidential, internationally significant military command and control facility encompassing over 3 million sf of area to achieve a net zero energy, net zero carbon, net zero water facility that incorporates cutting edge strategies and technologies together with traditional building materials that reflect a strong cultural identity for the project.
