Luis Palacio

AS+GG Director Luis Palacio AIA, LEED AP, has 15 years of experience in the design and project development of cultural, residential, commercial, urban planning and mixed-use projects.

Focused on sustainable building design and sustainable communities, he believes in a holistic design approach where aesthetics and form are conceived from a unique set of variables such as program, location, climate, culture, rather than from a preconceived style.

Recently, Luis was the Senior Designer for the large-scale master planning effort, Tianfu New District Master Plan, which is now under construction in Chengdu, China. He also lead one of  the design teams for the expo precinct portion of the Astana Expo City 2017 project in Kazakhstan. Currently he is working on a new high-tech campus design for a former Studebaker manufacturing facility in South Bend, Indiana.

Prior to working at AS+GG, Luis earned a Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago and worked at a number of international design firms.
